Volunteer Open House

The Log House Museum will host a Volunteer Open House on Saturday, May 31 from 11am-12pm. The open house is open to those who are interested in volunteering with the Southwest Seattle Historical Society and those who are just curious about the organization and its volunteer opportunities.

Volunteers participate in all aspects of the Historical Society, including leadership and governance. We proudly provide opportunities for volunteers of all ages and abilities, including:

  • Museum Greeter
  • Educational Programs
  • Native Plant Garden Volunteer
  • Collections and Research

Do you have a specialized skill or particular interest? Marketing, photography, construction, exhibits, fundraising, event planning? Let us know and we will do our best to find the right projects for you

The Southwest Seattle Historical Society, which owns and operates the Log House Museum, was founded in 1985 by community volunteers. Today, the volunteer and member powered organization has a mission to promote inclusive local history through education, preservation, and advocacy.

We will be closed on June 7 2025 except for the planned Alki Walking Tour. The Log House Museum is open to the public on Friday and Saturday: Noon to 4pm.
